Prescriptions (Including Repeats)
PROCEDURE FOR OBTAINING A PRESCRIPTION AT THE SURGERY
To order a prescription, please call 0141 339 5513 and press option 1. This service is available during normal opening hours, which you can find below.
After the tone you will be asked to state:
- Your name
- Your date of birth
- Your contact number
- Each item and the quantity you require
- If you would like to collect the prescription from the surgery or directly from the Park Road Pharmacy*
*The Bank Street Surgery is not affiliated with any particular pharmacy and you may collect your prescription from the pharmacist of your choice. However, we are able to send prescriptions directly to the Park Road Pharmacy for collection. This is due to the majority of our patients choosing to collect their prescription from this pharmacy.
Please allow 48 hours (2 working days) between ordering and collecting your prescription.
Please be aware that due to the current health crisis, all GP Practices and NHS services are extremely busy. We therefore advise patients to order their prescriptions a week in advance to ensure they receive their medication in a timely manner.
Any repeat medication (i.e. medication that appears on the right hand side of your prescription form) can be ordered by calling the prescription line below, by post with a stamped and addressed envelope attached or in person by completing a request at the surgery reception.
If the required medication is not mentioned on the right side of your prescription, then it is not a repeat medication. The doctor may decide that it would be better to see or speak to you before issuing these non-repeat medications, therefore it is advisable for you to ensure a prescription has been issued before coming to the practice to collect it.
Some pharmacies will order and collect repeat prescriptions on your behalf.
Please ask you pharmacist whether they offer this service.
